Group is on a mission to provide hope to those addicted and their families

U.S. Surgeon General Vivik Murthy stated, "Since 1999, opioid overdose deaths have quadrupled and opioid prescriptions have increased markedly - almost enough for every adult in America to have a bottle of pills."

In the Hollidaysburg/Duncansville area, a group called "Rise For Recovery" has a mission is to provide hope to those who are still untreated. The group wants to educate the public about the disease of addiction and show that it is treatable. It also wants to provide awareness that people in recovery can live a productive, happy life.
