In the attempts to keeping our children safe, law enforcement agencies of Blair County partnered to conduct an enforcement effort in support of National School Bus Safety Week.
Recently, local law enforcement members of the Allegheny Township Police Department, Blair County Sheriff’s Office, Blair Township Police Department, and the Hollidaysburg Borough Police Department partnered to target known school bus violation locations within the Hollidaysburg School District routes. Members of the listed law enforcement agencies provided a strong law enforcement presences, and enforcement at known problem locations to deter motorists from failing to stop for red bus signals.
Officers were "very pleased" with the performance of the event. Officers remind motorists that the safety of our children are at risk every time someone fails to stop for the red signal lights of a bus.
Additionally, police officers would like to recognize and say “thank you” to school bus drivers for their commitment to our children and their focus on safety.
Local police departments anticipate future joint operational events with the Blair County Sheriff’s Office in other districts across Blair County throughout the remaining school year.
