Firefighters work to control the fire at Country Club Terrace. A four-alarm fire ripped through the Country Club Terrace Townhouses near Hollidaysburg on Friday, Dec. 13. Damage is estimated to be more than $500,000.
At least a dozen families were left homeless after fire ripped through the Country Club Terrace Townhouses in Hollidaysburg on Friday, Dec. 13.
Geeseytown Volunteer Fire Company initially responded to the alarm at approximately 1 p.m.
The alarm was quickly upgraded to a four-alarm fire prompting assistance from multiple area fire stations.
Firefighters encountered heavy smoke and fire on the third floor of the structure and cut a hole in the roof for ventilation.
While fighting the fire, firefighters were notified of a cat that was trapped in one of the apartments.
