The marathon 3-1/2 hour Hollidaysburg School District Board of Directors virtual Committee of the Whole/Voting meeting eventually ended with the board voting 5-4 to re-open school with full face-to-face learning five days a week for all students in grades K-12 on Tuesday, Jan. 19.
The board initially voted down Superintendent Robert Gildea's suggestion to open school in grades K-12 in a hybrid setting on order to maintain safety precautions and keep social distancing by a 5-4 vote.
