North Juniata Street Construction Project Update

Always a busy intersection, current construction required a 2.5-mile detour at North Juniata and Allegheny streets in Hollidaysburg at the bridge crossing to Route 22.

Construction and related detours continue in Hollidaysburg as the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) continues the long awaited North Juniata Street intersection improvement project.

Construction commenced June 7, 2021, that closed two intersections leading into Hollidaysburg Borough, after at least four years of planning and proposals. PennDOT first introduced eight potential designs to the intersections of North Juniata and Allegheny streets at US 22 and the Newry/Bedford/Wall streets in 2017.
