Fire Company Controversy Discussed at Hollidaysburg Borough Council Meeting

The Hollidaysburg Borough Council meeting for August was held Thursday, Aug. 12, at 7 p.m. at the council chambers.

The August meeting was the first held live in well over a year. More than 35 members of the public were in attendance.

A number of topics were covered during the 90-minute meeting, but by far the most important and controversial was the payment on a fire truck and insurance payment on it for the Phoenix Fire Company. There has been controversy over the fire company since the former chief and a firefighter embezzled grant money from FEMA (Federal Emergency Management Agency)....
