A tree dedication ceremony celebrating the 175th Anniversary of Blair County was held by the Blair County Historical Society at Baker Mansion Sunday, Sept. 12, at 2 p.m. Blair County Commissioner Laura Burke, chair of the county anniversary committee, along with county commissioners Bruce Erb and Amy Webster, participated.
The cherry tree, donated by Janet and Robert F. Pennington, is one of many Pennsylvania native trees planted by Elias Baker in the mid-19th century. This is part of an effort of the Blair County Historical Society to replant the grounds with original species.
